Hi

Hi, Thanks for dropping by.

My name is Eileen but to friends in the card making world I'm known as 'ikki'. (which is pronounced I-KEY) From where or how this came about I'm not sure - it just got shorten from my original craft name of Ikemo by various friends along my crafting way! I started crafting whilst recouperating from an accident, and from my first attempts with peeloffs and paint - I was hooked! Now my passion is my BUG! and now BEADING!

In the Cupboard you will find ideas, news, tips and techniques to help you get more from this fab little machine. So come in - join the fun and Cuttle with me!

Embossing with a Special Touch Mica Mask

Today I'm going to show you how to use a Special Touch Mask from Creative Expressions.

The sandwich for embossing this type of mask is:  A / tan mat / card right side up / mask / 2 B plates and possible shim/s depending on your machine

You place the mask on the front edge of the card

and feed the uncovered part through the Bug first.
The reason for this is that you will avoid the drop from the mask to the card that can give you a nasty line!
(This is also the way to use folders when emboss straight onto card.)

now score your centre fold for an A6 card

you will see that the pattern is continued over to the back of the card - using lines A5 and DL on the board - score 2 further lines.

when folded your card will look like this, which I think is a professional finish to the embossed front.

The embellishment is another from my bits and pieces box that I coloured with Promarkers and then triple embossed.
The name of the stamp is Floral Spray from Elusive Images -
The Mask is called Blossom - you can buy these from Liz at make a lasting impression for £3.91 including postage.
I do favour simple and clean cards, but these masks can be used to add colour.
You can spray with glimmer mists, ink over the mask with distress inks, paint or chalks, even embossing pastes and the stencil washes clean is a mild soapy water.
Thanks for dropping by - have a good day whatever you are doing!
